Jacksonville Beach, Fla. (MAY 16, 2012) – Bands Against Breast Cancer (BABC) was chosen as the recipient of the money raised by Cliff’s Bar & Grill during its eighth-annual golf tournament, which took place at the Mill Cove Golf Club.

Cliff's Bar and Grill - Jacksonville, FloridaCliff’s Bar & Grill donated $12,000 to the Bands Against Breast Cancer agency, which educates women in the battle against breast cancer.  “These funds will enable us to train two more volunteers to teach breast health and breast self-exam classes, as well as enable us to continue to provide these classes free of charge to any organization that may interested,” said Henrietta (Hank) Watson, founder of Bands Against Breast Cancer.

Jim & Lori Rose, owners of the Cliff’s Bar and Grill restaurant, have donated the net proceeds to various charities from their event each year since 2005, with BABC being the recipient for the third year in a row.

“We wanted to find a charity that our friends and customers would support year to year, and have fun at the same time,” the Roses said.

BABC is an organization dedicated to educating women in the battle against breast cancer, financially assisting those going through treatment for breast cancer, providing mammograms for uninsured and under-insured women and supporting innovative breast cancer research. The agency’s primary annual fundraiser, “Boobspalooza“, is an all-day event held each fall, featuring ten bands dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

“Our mission is to harness the power of music to enable us to raise funds and awareness to aid in the fight against breast cancer,” Watson said.
